A Portrait of Summer

We had some fun shooting a mini-portrait session while I waited for the sunset. Since she was wearing a cool vintage shirt, I ran with the idea and applied a vintage treatment. I'm not sure whether I like the color or sepia better, so I posted both :)

Doesn't she have the most stunning eyes? I love this in b&w, but also had to share the color version so that you can see how blue her eyes really are!

Baby Bradley

...is not quite a baby anymore! He's a little toddler now, running around, chasing balls, making monkey noises. It's hard to believe how much he's grown in 15 short months!

Kylie + Tim

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Kylie and Tim for their engagement! We had a great time exploring some of San Francisco's most beautiful spots on a warm summery afternoon. Congratulations you two, and I hope you have a wonderful wedding next summer in Pittsburgh!

Big Boy Bradley!

My good friend Hallie's sweet little Bradley is growing up! He's almost 9 months now, and is just adorable with his new teeth!

Manisha & Rochan -- Presidio and Baker Beach, San Francisco

This past weekend I had the pleasure of shooting Manisha & Rochan's engagement portraits. Originally from the East Coast, they are planning to settle in San Francisco, and so we spent the session checking out some of SF's most beautiful locations, including the Palace of Fine Arts, the Presidio, the Legion of Honor, and Baker Beach. Manisha and Rochan are gorgeous together! Despite an extremely windy day and many outtakes due to blowing hair and wardrobe, I think we got a lot of beautiful images...

I met this long-tailed macaque at the top of the active Gunung Batur volcano in Bali. WIth the help of a guide, I climbed the volcano to see the sun rise over Lombok, an island to the east, and Gunung Agung, the tallest mountain in Bali.

This monkey took a break from begging for food to check out the sunrise. I loved the way the sunrise light illuminated his golden eyes.

Giggling Apsaras, Angkor Wat

I caught these sweet apsara dancers giggling together before a dance performance in the ruins at Angkor Thom (part of the Angkor Wat region).

Apsaras, celestial dancing nymphs, are an important part of the Hindu and Buddhist mythology, and can be seen carved in bas relief in great numbers at the temples of Angkor. The traditional Khmer dance is also called "Apsara Dancing" and is a beautiful, elegant dance to watch.

After the sun set, Tibetan buddhists lit yak butter candles around Bodnath stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal. I loved the beautiful light they gave off.

The McDonald Family - Happy Anniversary!

Our good family friends celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary recently and I took a few portraits at the occasion. They even dressed up in their wedding duds! It's great to see a couple with such a great sense of humor and still so in love 40 years later. Tom and Cathy, I hope you enjoy these photos!
